"Video -- Future Art" -- Bottle Rocket Gallery in Bentonville will host a one day exploration into the world of motion pictures using video as the vehicle from 6 to 10 p.m. July 1. The event is open to the public. Free. facebook.com/bottlerocketartgallery.

July 2

Architecture Tour -- Learn more about the architecture of Crystal Bridges during an Architecture Tour from 4 to 5 p.m. July 2. This hour-long Architecture Tour will introduce you to the unique architectural features of Moshe Safdie's design, and provide insights into some of the special challenges the Museum's site posed to engineers. This is an indoor/outdoor tour, weather permitting. An alternate indoor route is offered in case of inclement weather. No tickets necessary. Each tour accommodates a maximum of 15 participants. July 7

"Dancing Atoms: Barbara Morgan Photographs" -- This exhibit will be on display at the Fort Smith Regional Art Museum beginning July 7 through October 30 and includes 30 photographs that highlight Morgan's legacy of observing life in relation to "dancing atoms," providing a glimpse into her world of photography, painting, light and modern dance. The opening reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. July 7. $5. fsram.org.

July 8

"Black and White Photography" with Kris Johnson -- Discover techniques of high-quality black and white photography in this series led by photographer Kris Johnson from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 8 at Crystal Bridges. Johnson's work has been featured in several exhibitions in Northwest Arkansas. Much of the influence for his landscape work comes from 19th century romanticism, showing the mystery of the natural world. In using black and white photography, Johnson brings attention to forms and light. $10. crystalbridges.org.

July 9

85 Spring Street Gallery -- The new Stone Gallery, on the lower level of 85 Spring Street Gallery in Eureka Springs, has opened and invited five new artists into the fold. There is a variety of two and three dimensional art in metal, ceramic, stone, oil and acrylic. There will be an artist's reception from 6 to 9 p.m. July 9 during the regular Second Saturday Gallery Stroll in Eureka Springs. Refreshments will be served. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except for Wednesdays, which are by appointment only. For information call (479) 981-1549.

THROUGH JULY 17

"Nocturnal Musings" and "Illuminations Series" -- The Fayetteville Underground will be featuring two local artists through July 17 at Fossil Cove Brewing Company in Fayetteville. David Bachman explores his darker and more subconscious material with "Nocturnal Musings" and Octavio Logo's "Illumination Series" explores the human anatomy, the presence of death in life and the space between light and shadow. The exhibition can be seen during Fossil Cove's regular tasting room hours.

ALL MONTH

Mary Curtis Double Springs Pottery -- The pottery of Mary Curtis will be on display through the month of July at the Heartwood Gallery, 428 S. Government Ave. in Fayetteville. The exhibit will include animal forms, oil candles, berry bowls, pitchers, creamers mugs, etc. Many of her items are decorated with slips and leaf motifs. Information: 444-0888.

July Art at White Lotus -- New art for the summer show at White Lotus Salon and Massage in Fayetteville includes works by Marlene Samuel, F. Lee Green, Karl Killian and Red Star. Greeting cards by Lyons Designs and Ruthie Graen will be available. The show also features works by Matt Courtney, Ed Laningham and M A Long. The July art show will include paintings, photography, mixed media, jewelry, and pottery. The art show and salon are open Tuesday through Saturday and located at 4750 E. American Made: Treasures from the American Folk Art Museum -- Featuring more than 115 artworks, including quilts, paintings, furniture, sculpture, weather vanes, works on paper and more from the renowned collection of the American Folk Art Museum in New York City, this exhibition examines the role artworks like these have played in shaping the visual image and national identity of the United States. this is the first presentation of American folk art at Crystal Bridges. The artwork will be available to view July 2 through Sept. 19.

Eureka Fine Art Gallery -- Paintings by Barbara Robinson and sculpture by John Stalling will be featured during the month of July at The Eureka Fine Art Gallery at 2 Pine St. in Eureka Springs. An artist's reception will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. July 9 during the regular Second Saturday Gallery Stroll. Refreshments will be served. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Information: 363-6000.

Art & Nature Summer Camp -- The Illinois River Watershed Partnership's 2016 Art and Nature Camp is a day camp for youth ages 7-12 held 9 a.m.-4 p.m. for four weeks through July in Cave Springs. Camp activities include nature-inspired art projects, nature hikes, Watershed Mania games, geocaching around the lake and more. $40/camper per week. "Clinton and Kennedys" -- In a collaboration with Fayetteville Underground, the Clinton House Museum in Fayetteville will display "Clinton and Kennedys: Artist Exhibition by Tansill Stough" through the end of September. The exhibit features expressionist paintings by Hot Springs artist Tansill Stough. $8. clintonhousemuseum.org or 444-0066.

"Crazy Quilts" -- From about 1880 to 1900, women created beautiful show quilts featuring exotic pieces of fabric and embellishments of embroidery, ribbons and beads, all without using a pattern. This newer style is the centerpiece of the "Crazy Quilts" exhibit at the Rogers Historical Museum on display through July. Free. rogershistorical museum.org.

Submissions -- The Arkansas Arts council is seeking submissions from Arkansas artists for the 2017 "Small Works on Paper" exhibition. Deadline for entries is July 22. Entry forms are available at arkansasarts.org, or by calling (501) 324-9766.
